Hello.

After working fifteen+ years between retail and food & beverage management, I found myself out of a job due to Covid-19. Still in my 30s, I felt young, but didn’t know what I wanted to do when I “grew up.” I had started woodworking just a few years earlier as a hobby, and fell in love.

Making something with my hands was intoxicating, so I decided to make a table and see if I could sell it. It sold within a day. So I made another, and sold that one too. People asked if I made bookcases, benches, you name it - I said yes to everything! I picked up some inexpensive machines and got to work.

After putting in a few more years in business management, with woodworking on the back burner, I decided to do it! Tree & Tenon was born. I leased a nice little shop, picked up a few more pieces of equipment, and put all of my money and time into building the business.

The Tree & Tenon logo came from this tree, planted by my folks at the home we moved into the summer before I started high school. It’s beautiful, and reminds me of my mom and nana, who I can still picture hanging Christmas lights on it when it was about 1/5 the size.

Nature is important at Tree & Tenon, and I strive to utilize as much wood as possible. Every piece of scrap and off-cut from all projects are saved to use for cutting boards, picture frames, dowels, splines, etc. The only trash left is sawdust, and bits too small to use anywhere else.
